Digital Fit for Purpose?: Possibilities and Pitfalls of Data Integration in Health Systems. Experience from Denmark

About this Event

Dr. Sarah Wadmann, Senior Researcher at the Danish Center for Social Science Research, will describe the phenomenon of the "datafication" of health care in Denmark, presenting examples from a 4-year study of the responses of key stakeholders as health system data has been mobilized for different purposes. She will comment on the unique governance issues raised by this process, and unique responses arising in Denmark. The talk will include a discussion of the values underpinning different uses of data, and important issues for attention as the use of data in artificial intelligence applications becomes more common.

The talk will be followed by a response from Prof. Fiona Miller of the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

This lecture will be followed by audience questions and discussion.
