6 IRSN members participated in three full day peer research training with Access Alliance Research and Evaluation department on CANRISK project on July, 6, 7 & 10, 2023.

CANRISK is a screening tool developed by PHAC in 2011 to identify adults aged 40+, and later young people, at high risk of having prediabetes or diabetes. It is widely promoted since it is easy to use, evidence-based, and available in multiple languages.

Three days of peer research training covered the following topics:

  • CANRISK project overview
  • Community Based Research
  • Research design, Ethics, data collection & management
  • Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
  • EGAP (Engagement Governance, Access, and Protection)

 

A certification was awarded to each participants at the end of the training.
