We need your knowledge and experience!

You are invited to participate in a research study to explore the impact of COVID-19 on Ontario’s immigrants and refugees who are living with Mental Health and Addiction Disorders. 

This study is conducted by: Drs. Mandana Vahabi, mvahabi@torontomu.ca,  Dr. Josephine Wong, jph.wong@torontomu.ca, at Toronto Metropolitan University, and Dr. Aisha Lofters,  aisha.lofters@wchospital.ca, at Women’s College Hospital).

It is funded by a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Operating Grant.

Are you an immigrant or refugee who …?

  • Is living with or affected by Mental Health and Addiction Disorders or is caring for someone living with Mental Health and Addiction Disorders
  • speaks English.
  • is between 18 years and older.
  • is living in Ontario.

What does participation involve?

  • A short online socio-demographic survey which takes 5 minutes to complete.
  • Attending 3.5 hours online think tank (group discussion) via Zoom Platform which will be held on Thursday, September 28th,2023: 9.00 am – 12.30 pm
  •  all information will be kept private and confidential. Your identity will not be shared with anyone outside of the research team.

Would you be compensated for your time?

Yes, participants will be compensated with a cash honorarium of $90 for completing the online questionnaire, and participation in the think tank (group discussion) session plus $45 for internet expenses for those who have unstable internet (This should be requested when contacting our research team).
