Job Description

Women’s Age Lab at Women’s College Hospital is a new centre that focuses on improving the lives of older women. The Lab will bring together the work of researchers, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and policy makers, to drive change and have a meaningful impact for this population.

An exciting regular full-time opportunity as a Research Coordinator III exists in the Women’s Age Lab reporting to Dr. Paula Rochon, Founding Director, and Research Lead. This role will support the activities of a program of research focused on the health and well-being of older women, including but not limited to:

Coordination
• Supports the development and coordination of project plans, which includes a research program involving complex, multi-site research, ensuring deadlines, timelines and deliverables are met
• Coordinates the day-to-day activities of any staff specifically engaged in the carrying out of research/clinical protocol for one or more projects within the research program, as appropriate to their position
• Develop agendas and minutes for internal and external meetings
• Supporting and helping to facilitate all components of research programs undertaken by Women’s Age Lab
• Assists with enhancing relationships among existing stakeholders; help with the development of new partnerships

In collaboration with Dr. Rochon and the Research Lead, carries out various aspects of study/project protocols. These activities may include:
• Aiding in the recruitment and scheduling of research subjects
• Develop, administer and collect research questionnaires
• Creating and maintenance of statistical databases, data entry and analysis (both quantitative and qualitative)
• Assisting in grant/project submissions
• Conducting literature searches using MEDLINE and other Internet resources, retrieve and organize documents from university libraries
• Completing administrative tasks such as the planning and coordinating meetings of program or project teams, prepare meeting agendas and background material; produces and distributes minutes

Writing
• In collaboration with team members, writes:
• Informational materials about raising awareness of our work and research
• Sections of peer-reviewed publications, study protocols, funding proposals
• Research Ethics Board applications
• Grant funding agencies reports
• Abstracts, poster presentations and other relevant deliverables

Communications
In collaboration with team members, participates in:
• Drafting of graphic materials and creation of report dissemination plans
• Presentation and slide development
• Liaising with the Patient Experience Lead at Women's College Hospital to collect patient stories

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a related field
• At least five 3 - 5 years of research experience in a hospital setting with experience in the area of older adults, pharmacology, and sex and gender based plus analysis
• Strong qualitative skills, with prior experience conducting semi- structured interviews and qualitative analysis with relevant software (e.g., NVivo)
• Experience with recruitment and management of patients for research studies
• Project management experience including project timeline and stakeholder management
• The ability to work with minimal supervision and experience supervising a cross-functional team
• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills are required
• Data management skills with experience in the use of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office programs, data collection and analysis software (e.g. SPSS, Microsoft Excel)
• Ability to manage ongoing projects and time-sensitive activities concurrently, with excellent attention to detail
• Highly resourceful and adaptable with superior problem solving skills
• Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria.
