Position Description
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated care. 

CAMH is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Coordinator to support the Toronto Adolescent and Youth (TAY) Cohort Study, a 5-year research study supported by the Discovery Fund that will recruit and follow 3,000 youth to determine who is at highest risk of developing psychosis and the relationship between risk and functional outcomes. Reporting to the Research Manager and working closely with the Study Investigators, the Research Coordinator will support the study team to ensure effective coordination of recruitment, characterization, and retention of participants during this longitudinal research study. The Research Coordinator will assist with a number of research responsibilities, including the coordination of day-to-day operations, recruiting and screening study participants, scheduling participant interviews, administering structured diagnostic interviews and clinical scales, maintaining participant records, data entry and database maintenance, and preparing data for progress reports, research grant applications, presentations, and peer-reviewed research papers. The Research Coordinator will also support the scheduling and administration of cognitive and imaging assessments, and will facilitate the training of other staff and research trainees on all study procedures. Other administrative duties including, but not limited to, preparing Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions, developing and harmonizing standard operating procedures (SOPs), assisting with contracts and agreements, and maintaining study documents are also required. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable CAMH policies, as well as all regulatory and legislative requirements. This position requires some evenings and weekend shifts and is primarily located at 1001 Queen Street site, with some travel between sites, as required.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field and two (2) years’ experience with research studies targeted towards youth, young adults and/or families experiencing mental health challenges. Extensive experience providing research administrative support, problem-solving and coordinating quantitative data collection is required. Experience coordinating large-scale or multi-site studies is preferred, as is experience working on longitudinal complex studies. Previous experience in recruiting, screening, and completing the informed consent process with research participants is required. Extensive previous experience in administration of neuropsychological assessments (e.g. RAVLT, LMT), structured diagnostic interviewing (e.g. K-SADS-5, SCID-5), clinical rating scales (e.g. SRS-2) and neurocognitive assessments (e.g. NIH Toolbox, LMT, RAVLT) is required.  Experience with brain imaging (e.g., fMRI, EEG) is an asset. Previous experience preparing REB submissions, amendments, and renewals is required. Candidates will have a demonstrated ability to maintain and analyze large databases, and will have literature review and synthesis skills. Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and database software packages is required. The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential. Demonstrated communications skills (both oral and written) are required, as is the ability to explain complex issues in plain language. The candidate will be detail oriented and well-organized, with the ability to track key project deliverables and meet deadlines. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This full-time, contract  (12 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

Salary Range: $33.59 - $45.31 per hour
