Overview:

The Enhancing National Sector GBA+ Capacity project is aimed at providing the immigrant and refugee services sector with skills, tools, and resources to adopt gender equality approaches and GBA+ programming and policies into their support of immigrants and refugees throughout Canada. This project will be led by the Alberta Association of Immigrant
Serving Agencies (AAISA) in partnership with OCASI and various other umbrella organizations across Canada. This project is designed to improve the immigrant and refugee
serving sector's capacity to mainstream gender equality and GBA+ in their organizational knowledge, programming, and policies, leading to environments that are more understanding and welcoming to newcomers across Canada

Who are we looking for?

The Senior Coordinator Research GBA+ will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of a research project focused on gender equality and gender-based analysis plus (GBA+) gathering, analyzing, and presenting data and information. They will engage in developing research and policy materials and other project-based activities related to the project to establish foundational information and set the direction of the project. This may include conducting and facilitating project-specific deliverables such as focus groups, survey and questionnaire design, data collection and analysis, environmental scans, literature reviews, evaluations, report-writing, stakeholder meetings, and knowledge mobilization sessions. The incumbent will work closely with a team of researchers and staff from multiple partner organizations.

What will the Senior Coordinator Research GBA+ do?

The Senior Coordinator Research GBA+ with guidance from their Manager, will:
● Lead the design and delivery of projects including:
○ Developing advanced, comprehensive research protocols
○ Literature reviews and environmental scans
○ Formulating and conducting research studies and analyses
○ Performing complex data collection and study methods

○ Monitoring project developments on an ongoing basis
○ Analyzing and interpreting results
○ Develop recommendations as they pertain to research results
○ Proposing and implementing changes as needed
● Collaborate, promote, and maintain relationships with OCASI staff and external stakeholders (such as Advisory Committees and Working Groups) to develop, execute, and interpret research projects
● Ability to organize and prioritize own work and to work collaboratively to advance strategic research and policy initiatives which build the capacity of Onatrio’s settlement and integration sector
● Guide, train, and advise staff, consultants, and interns on techniques, methods, and procedures
● Other projects as assigned by the Manager or designate

What skills and qualifications do we need:
● Relevant post-secondary diploma or degree (e.g. social science, social work, communications, community development, immigration & settlement studies) or the equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience working in the non-profit sector.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a coordinator in a non-profit or community-based agency in the immigrant services sector or other relevant community services sector.
● Experience in stakeholder-informed qualitative and quantitative research, data collection, and data analysis software preferred
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting research findings to a variety of audiences
● Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines
● Knowledge of gender equality, gender-based analysis plus (GBA+), and community development principles
● Experience working with SurveyMonkey, CRMs, Zoom, Canva, and the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and SharePoint

Details:
● Salary is $56,342 plus benefits, unionized with Unifor Local 87M
● This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to OCASI policies and guidelines
