As a part of a Canada-wide team of staff and volunteers, the Data Systems Officer will be responsible for the back-end data maintenance of the CRM & eCRM platforms, providing hands on data maintenance and support, and undertaking analytics functions to support organizational decision making process. The successful candidate will focus primarily on importing, exporting and maintenance of data in Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online and performing data analytics. The Data Systems Officer will work closely with the Senior Manager, Database Management and Donor Services, the Digital Fundraising Systems Officer, and the Donor Services Team Lead to provide support and guidance on the adoption of industry best practices for data integrity, data analytics and use of the constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, and associated technology and business practices.


As the successful candidate, you will bring your “can do” personality to fulfill the following responsibilities: 

Data Management and Analytics

  • Undertake data analytics to support organizational decision making and make recommendations as needed
  • Extract data for such needs as: direct mail solicitations, newsletters, event communications, invitations, etc.
  • Analyze appeal and program performance, donor contact management, program overlap, etc. utilizing superior data manipulation skills
  • Work collaboratively with other teams on understanding business needs and translating these needs into actionable reports
  • Lead back end quality assurance processes and audience creation for e-CRM, including Pan-Canadian e-mail blasts

Data Integration and Maintenance

  • Import Transactions, Event Participants and Tributes using such product as: ImportOMatic’s Luminate Connector or JMG Solutions Plug In
  • Import data and maintain/recommend coding for specific Constituent Information
  • Maintain and improve overall integrity of data between Raiser’s Edge database and Luminate Online
  • Review and upload back feed files from Direct Mail vendor for address corrections
  • Ongoing data review and clean-up of constituent records
  • Use of tools such as advanced Excel equations and Regular Expressions to create efficiencies in work processes
  • Work closely with Digital Fundraising Systems Officer to ensure data integration needs between Luminate Online & Raiser’s Edge are met
  • Liaise with platform vendor(s) to trouble shoot, identify and solve problems
  • Provide training on Raiser’s Edge for staff as required to ensure data integrity will be maintained through proper use of the system

Administrative Duties

  • Work closely with the Events team to ensure participant data is recorded correctly in Raiser’s Edge and supply them with required reports leading up to Event Day
  • Assist as required in performing the monthly reconciliation of online transactions to the CRM in collaboration with the finance team
  • Assist in creating and documenting Parkinson Canada specific Raiser’s Edge and/or Luminate Business Rules
  • Provide backup support for Digital Fundraising Systems Officer on Luminate Online and back up support for functions performed by Senior Manager, Database Management and Donor Services and Donor Services Team Lead related to Raiser’s Edge if needed

  • A minimum of 3 years working with CRM data systems
  • Experience performing data analytics and data segmentation preferably with Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online
  • Experience importing transactions, event participants and attendees, preferably with ImportOMatic & ImportOMatic Luminate Connector or JMG Solutions Plug In
  • Experience with advanced Excel equations and/or Regular Expressions for Data Import Dictionaries
  • Flexible work hours are required during peak times or system updates
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices (including: events and direct mail) & CRA guidelines an asset
  • Experience working in the charitable sector an asset, with knowledge of online giving platforms
  • Bilingual (French/English) an asset
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
