Job summary:
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, six peer researchers with lived experience of violence against
women will be working with an interdisciplinary team of academic researchers, advocates, service
providers, and trainees on a study funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). This
research aims to investigate how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted violence against women services
and the experiences of clients accessing those services in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario. The
goal of this research is to identify best practices for different regions to respond to violence against
women and share that knowledge with service providers, policymakers, and funders.
The peer researchers will contribute to: data collection, analysis, research activities with community,
service, and policy partners, and preparing papers, reports, and presentations. The project team,
including the PI, will provide peer researchers with the necessary training for the position and ongoing
support throughout the study.
