Description
OpenIDEO Toronto is hosting a design research challenge!
-
High-rise residents divert only 27% of their waste, compared to 65% living in houses. That's a huge gap, especially because high-rise residents make up a large proportion of Torontonians.
-
While single family homes can access City of Toronto organics pick-up, and new multi-residential buildings are increasingly built to enable organics collection, residents in older multi-residential buildings are often left in the grey zone without clear approaches to divert their organics sustainably.
-
With more and more momentum to reduce and reuse waste, we believe now is the time to engage the community around this issue!
We have teamed up with local partners to bring you a series of sessions to tackle this challenge. Our aim is to uncover research insights around preventing and diverting organic food waste from landfills in high-rise buildings, spark conversations on the topic and engage the wider community on a waste reduction strategy. Join us, and let's make impact together!
