The Immigrant Researchers Support Network (IRSN) was initiated by Access Alliance to promote career success of internationally educated researchers (epidemiologists, statisticians, clinician scientists, qualitative researchers, evaluation experts, etc.) in Canada by providing a networking and peer support platform and offering professional development opportunities. The initiative is funded by a Ontario Trillium Foundation grant.
This IRSN meeting on November 1, 2018 features a keynote speaker, Dr. Shafi Bhuiyan, Co-Founder & Program Manager/Lead, Internationally Trained Medical Doctors (ITMDs) Bridging Program at Ryerson University to discuss his experiences and vision for the Immigrant Insight Scholars Initiative (IISI). The meeting also includes the official launch of the Immigrant Researchers Support Network (IRSN) web portal as well as a professional development workshop at the end.
