My name is Laila Al-Aref. I am an internationally educated medical laboratory technologist with more than 25 years of practical experience. I hold a Master's degree in "Biological sciences (Microbiology)". I worked in both public and private sectors in Amman, Jordan, where I gained the hands-on experience in all different medical laboratory disciplines.  During my working years, advances in molecular testing and stem cells technology shifted my interest to these new branches of science. I never worked in stem cell research before but the promising therapeutic options offered by this technology encouraged me to think of research in this field. My experience in research goes back to my post graduate work in the field of microbiology. Currently, I am preparing for my CSMLS certification exam and looking forward to finding an opportunity to work in the field of research in Canada.
